The bridal gown is the signature statement of your wedding, but just like trends and fashion, bridal styles change every year. The hottest trends off the 2010 Autumn Runway includes dresses that are light, airy and whimsy with layers of chiffon, embellishments and a touch of infused colour, pinks are the colour of the season.

Some trends to look out for are the:
•  Grecian Look: Abstract natural details, drapy look
from soft flowly fabrics that capture impirical beauty.
•  Vintage Details: Destressed flowers with lace on
   flowy vintage fabrics.
•  The Empire Waistline with broaches and beading
   made of delicate dreamlike material.

Long gone are the stiff satins and structured dresses, this season it is all about the light and airy layers with splashes of colour and embellishments.
If you want to look a million bucks on your special day you must also consider your body type and the most flattering silhoutte for your figure. It’s all about a gown that absoutly flatters your figure.

Bottom Heavy
If your are bottom heavy the key is to balance out the bottom on top, draw the eye upwards. Ways to do this are by having great details.  An off the shoulder neckline, gorgeous bling on your bodice or shoulder straps or intricate lace like this dress designed by Lazro will work magic.

Voluptuous Bride
If you are a busty bride you have got to flaunt it, the worst thing you can do is get a dress that goes right to your neck line and hides your bust. Instead you should show off your neck line and decklage, sweetheart dresses like the one displayed on the right by Monique Lhuillier work fantastic on a voluptuous figure.

Fuller Figure
If you are a fuller figure bride one of the hot trends for Autumn 2010 is perfect for you, the empire waist draws the eye upward and draws a long lean line from your bust down which will make you look taller and leaner just by choosing the right dress style. A perfect exhibition of this style is Vera Wang’s whimsical creation launched at her 2010 Autumn Runway show. A classic A-Line dress is also perfect for this figure. Make sure to avoid super slinky dresses and big ball gowns as they will not flatter your body shape well.

Tall, Slim Figure
If you have a tall slender figure you want to find a dress that flatters and gives you a feminine curve. A sheath style dress is perfect for this figure, as it falls best and gives a long and elegant look. Displayed above (right) is a gorgeous sheath dress with a laced vintage bolero by Sassi Holford.

Petite
If your petite keep it simple, you don’t want to drown in your dress. A firm fitting slinky dress works best on your figure. A mermaid look can also give you a taller look. This embellished slinky dress looks just perfect on the petite runway model, as pictured below.

Accessories with a dash of  colour can make a statement.  Pink couture sandals, by Valentino. Long pearl double strand necklace, by Gabrielle Sanchez and Flap clutch by La Regale.
Always remember to be true to your own style and embrace your femininity.
